Plan: The present study was planned to investigate the antibacterial activity of ethyl acetate,ethanol and hexane extracts of the fruits of Careya arborea Roxb.
Methodology: Agar diffusion assay was carried out using the extracts.
Outcome: All the tested bacterial strains viz., Escherichia Coli, Salmonella typhimurium, Listeria monocytogenes, Staphylococcus aureus and Staphylococcus epidermis) were found to be sensitive to all the 3 concentrations of ethyl acetate and methanolic extracts of fresh and dry fruit, in ascending order.
